FAQ
  • Holistic, compassionate psychiatrist.

Are you currently accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently accepting individuals 18 and older. We do not treat children or adolescents.

  • Best psychiatrist Franklin, Tennessee

    Where do you see patients?

Each visit is conducted online via a private and secure Telehealth platform for patients located in Alabama and Tennessee.

This allows ease of appointments for individuals in remote locations and those that may not be able to leave work.

  • Mental health provider

    Do you accept insurance?

Our practice is not contracted with insurance. This allows us to provide highly personalized care without the restrictions or time limitations insurers often impose.

Many clients choose to keep their mental health care outside of insurance to maintain greater privacy. Others find that their high in-network deductibles make working with an out-of-network provider a comparable investment.

If you have out-of-network benefits and want to use insurance, our clinic can provide a Superbill with the necessary diagnosis and billing codes for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts vary by carrier, so we recommend contacting your insurance before you schedule a phone consultation and provide the CPT codes in the Good Faith Estimate if you plan to use this option.

  • telehealth psychiatrist, online appointment

How much should I expect to pay?

Attached is a copy of our Good Faith Estimate for your reference.

    Diagnosis & Evaluation (60 min): $360
    Psychiatric Follow-up (30 min): $180

The initial Diagnosis & Evaluation is a 1x appointment unless you have not been seen by our clinic in over 3 years.

Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled every 1-3 months until treatment goals are achieved, then twice a year.

Routine lab work is required for patients who are prescribed medications. Labs may be billed through insurance. Without insurance, labs are approximately $100.

The fees above include reasonable time for patient care, record keeping, superbill production, lab review, and refill requests.

  • Online psychiatrist Huntsville, Alabama.

    Do you prescribe controlled medications?

Due to evolving federal regulations around prescribing controlled medications (such as stimulants and benzodiazepines) through Telehealth, our practice does not prescribe these medications.

Many clients find excellent results with safer, non-addictive alternatives that can effectively address anxiety, inattention, or focus concerns.

If a controlled medication is truly the best option, Dr. Brazelton will work collaboratively with your primary care physician to support that plan and ensure your needs are met safely.

  • Online psychiatrist Franklin, Tennessee

What do I do if I am in crisis?

In the event of an emergency please call 911, 988 (for mental health crisis), or go to the nearest emergency room.

Due to the structure of this clinic we are not able to provide emergency services.

  • Online psychiatrist Nashville, Tennessee.

If I have medicare can I still be seen?

Dr. Brazelton is happy to welcome Medicare beneficiaries who prefer a private-pay option for more personalized care. Prior to your first appointment, you’ll simply review and sign a ‘Medicare Opt-Out’ consent form, which we’ll provide in advance for your convenience.

  • Tele-psychiatry Huntsville, Alabama

    Why a psychiatrist?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who completes extensive training to develop the skills needed to provide safe and effective evidence-based approaches to help their patients.

Training includes 4 years of medical school followed by 4 years of psychiatric residency specializing in a wide-breadth of mental health conditions. During this time, they learn how to safely manage psychiatric medications while keeping in mind the whole patient including their background, genetics, medical conditions, and potentially dangerous drug interactions. Psychiatrists also get broad education in various subtypes of psychotherapy including supportive, motivational, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapy.

If you have questions about which type of provider would best meet your specific needs we are happy to discuss this further during the consultation.
